Shane started his dog training career by training both obedience and show dogs for A.K.C. Shows. This led to a career working with explosive detection canines for the Y-12 Nuclear Weapons Facility in Oakridge, Tennessee. During this government assignment, the K-9 unit that he supervised scored a perfect 100% on all testing that was performed by the Internal Affairs Unit. While working on this assignment, Shane held one of the highest security clearances granted by the United States Department of Defense.

After completing a four year contract, Shane entered back into the private sector as both a canine handler and trainer. He offered narcotic detection canine services to many North American public schools. During this time, he was registered with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration as both a canine handler and trainer. After an extensive background check, he was granted permission by the D.E.A. to handle narcotic schedules 1-4 for training purposes. Shane has certified numerous working canines with both the Texas Canine Police Association and the NNDDA.
